For many, finding the right college match can be totally exhausting. From deciding which school has your major, to planning out your finances, to measuring the distance you want to travel from home, you can become completely overwhelmed. That is exactly how I felt my senior year of high school.
I was very lost and had no idea where I wanted to continue my education. I toured many other universities and was just not impressed. Then, one day after my hope was almost gone, a girl at my high school told me about this college called Samford University. Immediately, I thought, “There is no way I would make it there.” But out of complete desperation I decided to look more into Samford.
To begin, I was totally impressed with all the degrees Samford offered. From divinity to arts, sciences to music, business to nursing, Samford is a melting pot of opportunities! Any major that you could possibly want, Samford has a wonderful facility and reputable staff to expand your knowledge on just about anything!
Secondly, Samford’s campus is quite breathtaking. My first visit here was Nov. 14, 2017. I can vividly remember turning off Lakeshore Drive and looking up in awe at the gorgeous architecture, landscaping and ambience. I knew this place was the real deal. It all expressed success and diligence.
Lastly, the everyone here is so pleasant. My admission counselor was the first person I came into contact with here at Samford. She was so helpful and really wanted what was best for me here. Then, I came onto campus and started interacting with the students and staff. I found this really odd because I had just came to the campus and I was already making connections with people I met!
I am still meeting wonderful people and I couldn’t be more thankful. I knew this was the place for me. Samford also has a beautiful Christian influence and I was really attracted to it. I knew that this is where I could build myself. Not only could I get an education here, but I could grow here spiritually and personally. Samford cares about you. They care about who you are and who you want to become. They care about the stories you have and the struggles you have embraced.
No one person here on campus is the same. No one person here has their life all figured out. No one person here knows exactly what they're doing. We all do have one thing in common, though: we love this university. Some may love it for the educational advantages, social aspects, athletic advancements or the sense of belonging, but we all love Samford in some way. The best decision of my life was coming here to Samford. I have made some lifelong friends and gained knowledge I never knew I would gain.
So, if you confused or just lost, choose Samford.
